Bright Picture lights up Saint-Cloud with Eugene Adam Victory

Andre Fabre’s Bright Picture (Intello) held off persistent opposition to land yesterday’s Gr.2 Prix Eugene Adam over 2000m at Saint-Cloud.The three-year-old raced prominently before being asked to challenge with 400m metres left to travel. He soon reached the front and stayed on to win by a length and a quarter, leaving the Gr.3 Prix Greffulhe victor Wootton Verni (Wootton Bassett) in second and the Listed Prix de Suresnes fourth-placed Wahdan(Siyouni) in third. This is the second black-type victory for the son of Intello, who won the Listed Prix Francois Mathet in March and finished second in April’s Gr.3 Prix Noailles at Longchamp.

Bred by the late John Carrington, he was sold to Wertheimer & Frere for €72,000 at the Arqana October Yearling Sale. The gelding is out of the five-time winner and Gr.3 Atalanta Stakes-placed Lucy The Painter (Excellent Art). He hails from the family of the Gr.1-winning sires North Light (Danehill) and Gamut (Spectrum).
